At Lake Shore Adult Education, our English as a Second Language (ESL) Program is all about helping you feel confident and comfortable using English in everyday life.

Whether you're new to the language or just want to improve your skills, we’re here to support you! Our classes focus on real-world communication—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—in a friendly, encouraging environment.

You'll also gain important workplace and life skills to help you succeed at work, at home, and in your community.

Registration Information

Students must be at least 18 years old by July 1st, 2024 to enroll in the Adult Education Program.

All potential students are required to schedule an appointment date and time to take an in-person placement Pre-test. 

Registration for the 2024-25 school year has closed.

Pre-register for 2025-26 Classes

** We will contact you in August 2025 to schedule placement testing and classes. 


Program Information

  • ESL classes are hybrid (virtual and in-person):
  • Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.  (in-person)
  • Monday - Thursday 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (virtual)

  • All students are required to pre-test even if they have zero English Language skills. We use testing to help students enter the correct class level. 
  • When students reach 40 hours of instruction time, they are required to post-test to track their growth.
